A fine ancient woodland near Little Baddow, owned and managed by the parish council. The standard trees are oak, with an underwood of hornbeam and sweet chestnut former coppice, which is being re-coppiced in patches. It has wood anemones and bluebells in spring, other wild flowers in the recently coppiced areas, and resident badgers.
Visiting
Entry from Holybred Lane, or from a public footpath at the end of Spring Close, off North Hill in the north of Little Baddow.
Regular bus services Chelmsford–Maldon and Chelmsford-S. Woodham. Get off at Eve's Corner.
Accessible at all times.
